My periods are a nightmare since having DS2 any advice?

DS2 is nearly 3 now and ever since he was born my Periods have got worse and worse.

Before hildren and even after DS1's birth they were simple, mild symptoms but now..

I am in Agony for 7 days
They are really heavy
My face explodes in huge spots
My hair falls out and is lank
I cry and shout and scream at everything and get really down
I stink i am having to wash 3 times a day and layering on deoderant like its going out of fashion

I can have the combined pill due to a blood clotting problem, i have tried many POPs which have just made me really ill, i have also tried Progesterone which stopped the actualy bleeding but doubled all the other symptoms.

Im mserable, i will go back to the dr, i have even considered asking for my tubes to be tied or a hystorectony of whatever it is they do these days but im only 22 so they wouldn't i know that i might regret it aswell.

An advice, anyone have experience they could share?

I had terrible periods following pregnancy and tried using a herb called Agnus Castus, it is supposed to mimic the action of progesterone in the body. There will probably be loads of links in the Internet. It worked for me, got rid of the worst symptoms, but the capsules are not cheap. You should be able to get some advice from a good health food shop. You aren't supposed to take it at the same time as the pill. There's also a herb called Black Co-something-or-other that is also supposed to help with these symptoms, but i never tried that one.

I've just been prescribed Tranexamic acid by my GP to ease my ridiculously heavy periods. My next one is due in 10 days and I'm really hoping it helps.

I don't think it's designed to help with any of your other symptoms though but it might be worth asking your Dr.

tranexamic acid really helps with the blood loss but you shouldn't really take it with ibuprofen as it thins the blood - so check with the gp about it.

Sounds like you need referring to a specialist tbh.

My GP did reccomend a Coil but she recommended a non hormone one, (im not sure if thats the Merina or not) i just can't seem to handle and sort of hormone being added to me iyswim, im wary of things though i have become so ill on other medications like the depo injection and some POPs i don't want to go down that route again! My periods were getting worse & worse after every dc, heavier & much more painful, but now use this small magnetic clip thingy you attach to front of your knickers (over the most painful area). It's called the 'Lady Care' & my mum got it in the local chemist, but have just googled & there's various stuff about it. Sounds mad I know, & I am THE most sceptical person but it's bloody marvellous, wish I'd had it years ago - all those wasted weeks feeling grey with pain dragging myself around! It's totally removed all the pain for me, & if I take it off I soon feel waves of pain coming back. Spent years being given brush-off by dr's saying nonsense like you'll improve AFTER you have kids (er, no, actually getting worse). The blurb says something bout releasing the build-up of lactic acid in muscles; I've no idea medically-wise but it's working! Perhaps worth a shot as low-tech no-drug option before you start breaking down gp's door?

Still spotty & greasy-haired though...

Lol i can just about cope with the Greasy Hair and its really thick so i can afford to loose a few. The spots i can live with, i never had any as a teen so i figure its my turn but the sweating is gross and embarrasing and the mood swings are vile i have caused several lrge full blown arguments for no flipping reason and been near to break down point when have realised my period was due and worked out what was going on.

Starflower oil is supposed to be good if taken daily. I've just started taking it so will report back.

that sounds awful. It shouldn't be that painful. you should really ask for a referral to gynaecology, as it needs to be checked out. There are a few things it could be, including endometriosis see here. Don't just treat the symptoms as the possible underlying causes need to be ruled out first. You can still use the magnets/herbs/whatever after it's been investigated.

Tying your tubes won't make a difference - it stops you being able to conceive but you still ovulate and you still have periods.

Do go back to your GP and get help.
