My last few periods I've been feeling ill a few days before I'm due-nausea, dicky tummy, sleeplessness. Is this an age thing? (Am 42 soon) Has anyone else experienced this?

I get this too, it's due to the increase in oestrogen in the second half of the cycle. I have got progressively worse along with other symptoms and thought I was heading for menopause but my oestrogen levels are unusually high even for mid cycle so waiting to get bloods done on day 3/4 to see what the variation is. Google oestrogen dominance - it explains a lot. I have said for a long time, it's like spending every other 2 weeks being pregnant - it so draining.

I've always had an upset tummy around the time my period is due.

I also feel hot and restless and itchy and can't sleep for the two nights before my period starts. Its the main sign I get that my period is coming.

I've had the nausea for about 10 years now, too (am 39).

I've always had a bit of a dicky tummy coming up to my period, but I've started having the nausea as well since DC3 (I'm 38) - feels exactly like early pregnancy, feeling sick but just not being able to face eating anything.

I always think I am getting the flu or similar.
I also get a dickie tummy, it's no fun.

yes, I really struggle to eat breakfast before work in the run up to my period, it's just like morning sickness, I gag brushing my teeth in the morning to, it's exactly like being pregnant!
