Liver transplants and recovery time. Anyone?

A colleague I am very fond of has recently had a liver transplant.

I don't know his family and don't want to bother them anyway, so can anybody tell me what his recovery may be like?

He'll be off work for about 6 months, but how much of that will be intensive care type recovery, does anybody know?

I will text him to wish him well but assume it's too early to expect a response only two weeks after the op.

Hi MorrisZapp - recovery after liver transplantation is very variable. Your colleague could still be on intensive care or could be home by now. If you don't know him as a close friend I would probably leave it for another couple of weeks.
