Urgent - what would you do?

We are about to join a group of families holidaying in a large house in the Lakes. They have been there three days already.

One family went home today with the 3 year old suffering from swine flu.

What's the advice on whether we should go. I have an 19 month old, as well as suffering from asthma myself.

Checked NHS website - no advice given.

What would you do? (Car packed and we are just about ready to set off.)

I wouldn't go. It is not a good idea to "catch it now before it gets bad". I think we all have a duty to prevent the spread wherever possible and the virus can live for five days on hard surfaces.

Oh duh - just re-read OP and realised they'd gone home with poorly child

i wonder if she has gone already?

Charis I don't think we can prevent the spread so better to dance with it and allow it to run its course surely while it's a relatively known quantity and before it becomes, erm, something other.

They're predicting it'll be with us for two or three years and it's not practical to think we can steer clear for that long.

I wouldn't risk it.
