My dd is 5 and has lost two teeth. Both of them had the second tooth growing up behind. Tooth 1 has grown straight now and the other is still to move into the right place.

This happened with the first tooth dd lost. It hung on for ages and I started to worry and took her to the dentist. If I'd known how easily it was going to come out when he flicked it I wouldn't have bothered!

Posted the self same query here about last August/September ! ds finally lost his first tooth in mid October aged 6 1/2 followed by the second at Christmas. In both cases the tooth had grown almost fully through behind the milk one and when the milk tooth eventually came out they moved forward to fill the space and look perfect now. No sign of any more coming out yet although most of his class are already gappy or have their top ones coming through !

lima try telling him to pull it,you know, the tooth fairy and all that,ds took 2 seconds to pull it out when i mentioned the money, lol, like pixel said they come out really easily

LIZS · 20/05/2005 20:01

Our ds' were n't loose until a day or so before they came out.

hiya all
thanks for the reassurance - dh came home and hit the roof when I told him - thought I should have made an emergency appt at the dentist - was going on about him needing an operation - and generally putting the wind up me

whymummy - I did ask ds1 to push the tooth and see if it wobbled - he said it did a little bit. Think I will get him into a daily wobbling routine and see what happens.

My dd has lost 2 teeth so far and both times this has happened. The new tooth has just gently pushed the old one out.

have found Lizs's thread in the archives - very enlightening - thanks again

Common, happened to dd, got it checked out by dentist who said not to worry about it.
