A salty taste in the mouth - why?

For the last few days at the back of my mouth and throat I've constantly had a really salty, slightly sour taste.

Does anyone know why?

I'm sure it's nothing serious, it's just annoying as I can't taste things properly and it's slightly unpleasant.

A bit of a tickly throat too, but no cold or anything has developed and it might not be connected.

Ooh, maybe preggers then . It was more a metalic taste for me though.

metallic taste

My first sign of pregnancy was feeling queasy and not being able to face a cup of tea or coffee.

I had a funny taste, went off tea and couldn't face bananas. When I first got pregnant, not when swallowing...

  • GERD
  • bile reflux after gallbladder removal
  • gingivitis
  • tooth extraction or other dental work
  • whitening toothpaste
  • steroids, NSAIDs, antibiotics or other meds side effects
  • tonsillitis
  • Sjögren's syndrome
