Dark skin on inner thighs

I have developed really dark. thick skin on both of my inner thighs - almost like elephant skin.
It isn't itchy or irritating but looks very unsightly.
I didn't even realise that it was there until I was told!

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I have heard this has to do with hormone imbalances? Can be a sign of polycystic ovarian syndrome. I have it slightly and have polycystic ovaries.

Do you have this in your armpits too or around the back of your neck?

No LaDi I don't think so but I do have a small light brown horizontal line on my stomach which I did put down to wearing my clothes too tight.
It looks a little bit like a bruise but it doesn't hurt at all.
It's where my waitband is and that's what made me think by clothes were causing it.

I thinkit probably is due to repeated rubbing then. I was worried it might be something called acanthosis nigricans, have a google of some pics so you can check, which is associated with hormone problems.

I've got PCOS and I've got this too.
