rectocele and cystocele

fianlly saw gyno today and he says i have a SMALL rectocele and cystocele. What does small mean? some days i am so down about it, i can't imagine a big one.

I know there was a support thread but cant find it and have some specific questions i need answering that he either couldn't or wouldn't answer.

has anyone gone on to have another baby after being diagnosed? how did it affect it?
what are the risks of getting pregnant again?
what are the risks of a full prolapse now?
what do i need to do to reduce those risks?
about 3stone over weight and am trying to lose, have lost first 1.5 stone by having a baby and a bit of dieting but obv need to get cracking.

hmm, lots to think about. might not have another one as not sure can mentally cope with worse than this.

I had surgery to repair both a rectocele and cystocele back in Feb, they were moderate and caused some discomfort mostly lower back pain and problems weeing.

I am not planning any more children (I have 4)but was told there would be some risks if I got pg again but this was because I had also had a CS with my last baby and there would be considerable amounts of scar tissue which could cause problems.

To reduce the risk of a full prolapse I was instructed by the physio to do pelvic floor exercises often every day. Loosing weight will definitely help (I am still struggling but have lost nearly a stone).

I'm due to have an operation for a posterior and perium repair I'm so frightened, i've been throughell h since having my little boy and now this I love and adore my baby but I wish I hadn't been butchered and neglected from my midwife who you put trust in, has anyone as a successful repair with good results, they say it may need repairing again in eight to ten years great I'm only 26 and wanted another child, distraught and upset would love to hear some good successful op a from people x has anyone had a good surgeon in Essex?

I really hope you get this response as I know this started on an old thread. I had a rectocele repair and perineum repair (perrinerrohaphy) funnily enough on 9th Jan the day you wrote your message. I am now 3 weeks post op and everything is fab !! I am mummy to 3 little boys and have literally done nothing for 3 weeks so far as advised to help heal. If you want more children I would def put off having this op until you know you are done. I needed the op after number 2 but knew I wanted another baby, my consultant advised me strongly about having any more children after the op as it would undo everything. Feel free to ask any questions xx
