As for the... ahem (I shall not say the word) it could be a trip to the docs for some cream.

Lonelymum · 16/05/2005 14:06

JM, did you have to strain to use the loo after your op? That might have brought on piles. Hard luck. You could have really done without this couldn't you?

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 14:06

ewww.... no thanks! would rather buy something at the chemist than have a doc look at my bum!

OP posts:
jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 14:07

thats just it - i havent been since the op - had the urge but nothing - guess im right in thinking it is then?

Know how you feel about doc looking at your bum JM. I had an anal fissure after ds1 and endured agony every time I did a poo for about 7 months! In the end, the pain drove me to the doc's and yes she did examine me "there" but it wasn't half as bad as the pain I had been enduring. Getting it sorted also made up for the humiliation.

mummygow · 16/05/2005 14:09

JM I had them MW gave me some cream but also suggested (although I did not do this) get crushed ice and wrap in lots of kitchen towel and put up yor bottom

Although my mum just wanted to know if she could use the cream on her eyes

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 14:10

cream on her eyes?! i wont ask!!!

maybe try the ice thing!

I haven't been to the 'loo' much since my recent surgery and when I have its painful. Ask the doc for some mild laxitive (can't remember the name) it really does work. My pain killers are part of the reason I cn't go, are you on any ?

Whatever you do, I don't recommend taking Andrews it was so violent, I was on the loo for 2 hours take care

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 14:15

not on anything other than paracetemol. had been on codeine (sp?) and some antibiotics earlier in the week tho - last poo was friday morning!

Try some Fybogel, ( a drink in different flavours, can get it in Sainsburys or chemist) it softens the stool and makes it easier to pass. Get some prep H or anusol cream, works wonders on itch bums, soothing too!

golds · 16/05/2005 16:52

One of codeine side effects is constipation, thats what I am on. Just remebered name of medicine Lactulose, very mild, you take it at night and in the morning it works. (can be bought over counter) I have proof of that as I forgot to take some last night and I can't go today. My iron tablets also cause it, so at the moment am getting a double dose of it. Good luck and hope you find some relief soon.

simone131182 · 16/05/2005 17:17
