I don't know what's getting me down more - the fatigue or the pain

I wish they would both go away. I have been lying on the couch sleeping on and off all afternoon and evening, with hot water bottels on my legs and feet for the pain. I ordered Dominos for tea as I couldn't physically hold anything becasue of the apin in my hands. I have been upstairs just now lying on the bed while DS2 was in the bath and I wanted to just stay there.

is the tiredness due to painkillers? or just the pain? Do you have help? Have you been refered to Pain specialists?

The fatigue and tiredness go together unforunately. Have been to pain clinic, fat lot of good that was, and I have finally, after almost 18months, got a date for "pain clinic CBT course" and apparently after 3 sessions I shall be completely pain free.

I got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 3 years ago.

I'm in a bit of a bad patch too - over work in my case (DH is out of action) I just got back from Tescos & I have to unpack it all but I am sat in a heap

For me the pain makes me tired - I have bad joints atm plus hurty bones which is worse

Katy - DH is away although he will be home soon, he's been away for 4 months. it's just so bad at the minute, and it just doesn't ever go away and just recently it seems like its not eeasing either. My feet and shins are sore, and its so bad I can ahrdly walk, I have numbness in the last 2 fingers of my right hand and pain right up my arm into my neck. I've been snoozing again on teh couch and the only reason I'm not in bed is because A) DS1 is still awake - again and B) There's no point because however tired I am, I can't sleep for the pain

My feet aren't so bad atm - but my shins/lower arms yowser!!!

It is, especially if there is no family support.
I sometimes get a really odd feeling as well, especially in my arms, like they are being gripped really tightly and then they go really heavy. it's weird, the alst 2 times it happened my mum was here and she said the colour drained out of my face and I went really pale and clammy, then the pain starts again. Sometimes the pain is so bad I feel sick

I know pet - it's so crappy

Mine has been good for so long - I really resent it popping it's head above the parapet

Funnily enough my problems have coincided with reducing my reflexology due to over work

I got a card from a customer at work who does reiki, she's loal to my area, and can i fidn it. NO I can't. I was going to give it a try. I must admit though I am very about the pain clinic doctors claim that I would be pain free (compeltely and forever) after 3 sessions of CBT!

and all the spelling is down to the Fibro as well, I can't seem to co-ordinate my brain and fingers. Same when I'm talking, I stand there with my mouth open, mid sentence, and forget what I'm saying

My reflexologist does Reiki on me when I am very bad.....I can't wait until next Thursday

I am talking and then suddenly the person I was talking to is stood there looking at me....I have broken off mid word and there has been a gap - I never know what to say so I blame my butterfly brain & ask what I was saying

Herbie - the gP did suggest Tramdaol a while ago, but at the time, I was wary of trying anything new while DH was away.

There a story to the painkillers though. I first saw pain clinic doctor in 2008. He said " Mrs saltire, you don't have Fibro (despite 3 diagnosis by Rheumatologists) your pain is caused by Migraine, and taking co-codamol won't help with that". I said that's all very well, but if the pain is caused by migraine, why don't I ahve a premanent migraine? because I certainly have permanent pain. So my GP then took me off the 30/500mg painkillers on this other docs advice. Took me ages to get them to give them back to me - I threatened to complain to GMC! Pain clinic doctor (2nd one I saw) wrote and siad "yes Mrs Saltire is a classic case of Fibro"

Yes I have work tomorrow, It's starting to get more of an effort though to go. I only do 12 hours a week, I didn't go back to childminding becasue I felt I couldn't offer the proper service and with work I finish early enough to be able to have a lie down when I get home - after taking to dog out, again an effort to do that.
I have always thought "I am not giving in to this" but now, I can't see any other option but to give in. It's times like this I wish my mum lived nearer

Will maybe try tramadol when DH gets back, not long now. I am off to bed, I think I might read for a while, I held off on my painkilelrs, so I could take them at bedtime. Night all

Sorry, no advice but heaps of sympathy. My dh suffers from chronic back pain and nothing helps so can only imagine how you;re feeling having to cope on your own with dcs.

DH is looking into homeopathic stuff atm - will let you know if anything is successful.

Katy - thanks for asking. I feel much the same today, in fact I got up at 7am then wnet back to bed for half an hour, which I never do! Legs and feet still very sore, and I ahd to take the dog out which didn't help
