Ok ladies,

Out with it. DS (14.5mnths) had his MMR jab on Monday. What can I expect and for how long?

His sleep was very disrupted last night but not sure whether this was due to teething? Took 2.5hrs to go to sleep and woke up crying very 2hrs.

Had the GP check his ears today (as he had an ear infection for two wks) and they seem fine.

Could this be teething or the MMR jab? Have hear some nightmare stories about sleep disruption, bizarre behaviour, etc.

my dd and ds both got a reaction about a week after the jab, a bit like they were getting a bug, slight temp, whingey in the daytime and a bit wakeful in the night but nothing major to be honest, and it was quickly eased by calpol. Lasted about 2-3 days HTH

bundle · 11/05/2005 12:36

small red bump, no temp. sorry to disappoint.

Prettybird · 11/05/2005 12:37

No noticeable reaction for any of ds'jabs.

triceratops · 11/05/2005 12:39

didn't notice any reaction at all with ds.

happymerryberries · 11/05/2005 12:39

No temp, no probelms, small raised mark with ds that went. Nothing at all with dd.

eemie · 11/05/2005 12:40

All plain sailing - she had a little rash after about a week but it didn't seem to bother her

Fimbo · 11/05/2005 12:41

Same as Elibelly

LIZS · 11/05/2005 12:42

ds was fine. dd had heavy cold symptoms, feint rash, temperature, poor sleep within 48 hours fo it. This eased off within a week but then she also had infected eczema/cradle cap which was probably unrelated but may have caused her sleep problems rather than the jab itself. Both were fine with boosters.

CADS · 11/05/2005 12:42

Gosh, that was quick. So far so good. Like these types of answers.

DS was a bit grumpy for 24 hours and had a couple of doses of calpol... DD took it in her stride and showed no ill effects...

SoupDragon · 11/05/2005 12:51

Um, both DSs were absolutely fine. no reactions whatsoever.

compo · 11/05/2005 12:53

no reaction here either

muminlondon · 11/05/2005 13:05

bit grumpy the day after. Otherwise fine.

Tinker · 11/05/2005 13:12

Small red bump about 7 to 10 days later, bit grumpy but, otherwise, fine.

snafu · 11/05/2005 13:14

Ds possibly a bit grumpy the day after - nothing more than that springs to mind.

Gwenick · 11/05/2005 13:14

Nothing 'noticeable' to report here for either DS's.

singersgirl · 11/05/2005 14:54

No reaction at all from either of my DSs, nor to any other jabs - possibly a reddish bit on the arm, but I can't remember which jab this was for now.

CADS · 12/05/2005 19:10

Thanks for replying everyone. We have had too bad nights now which I guess I can only put down to teething.

Does anyone else find that their dcs are only grizzly in the afternoon/evening and don't sleep well, when they teething.

Fingers crossed things will better tonight.

Mine didn't react at all, either.
