Can anyone help me get rid of DS's cold?

He's had a cold on and off now since February, and I just don't know how to get rid of it. He's been doctors twice, first time she thought he had scarlet fever (he'd had a slight red rash)and gave him antibiotics. He was better whilst he was taking them but as soon as they finished it came back. Took him doctors again, this time she thought he had a sore throat so again, antibiotics, and again the cold came back as he soon as they'd finished.

He seemed to get better but last week it was starting off again, snot fountain in full flow and now I've just put him to bed with a temperature.

I just don't know what else to try. When he's really affected he has Medised or Calpol, he's tried sudafed, saline nasal drops, vapo rub stuff. We try and feed him lots of fruit and veg, although his appetite has decreased since he's been poorly and he does take multivitamins as well.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get him better? I don't really want to take him back Dr's as she'll only give him antibiotics again and there are no other doctors at the practice I could see. I know how miserable I feel when I have a cold and he's had it for so long now... I've just run out of ideas. He's 2.10 by the way
