Can I take co-enzyme Q10 if I'm hypothyroid?

Nothing like a specific question!

I have an underactive thyroid which has been treated for about 18 months. I've been feeling very tired and run down recently, and a friend has recommended coenzyme Q10 as a good way of getting more energy.

I googled it to find out a bit more about it and there seems to be some confusion about whether or not you should take it if you're hypothyroid. Does anyone have any good information about it, please?

TIA.

I have been taking coenzyme Cq 10 for nearly a year now, I am also hypothyroid and on statins for high cholesterol. None of my doctors (gp, endo or lipid consultants) have ever suggest there is a problem taking it with thyroxine. Hope this helps.
