bcg vaccine- lump just burst!

help- baby is 4.5months and the arm part where she had the bcg vaccine has just burst after accumulating into a massive lump..pus etc, and blood followed after- how shall i treat it? left with a small hole.. shall i apply vaseline to it to stop a scab forming or just bandage it up with a plaster? she cried a little, but fine now..any advice appreciated..

I'd call NHS Direct if I were you. I know this is a common reaction to the BCG vaccine but when I, and my classmates had it, we must have been about 12, so we were much tougher and less precious.
