I got both my hearing aid a couple of months ago now and have gotten used to them quite quickly. How I ever lived without them I don't know.
I have been ill for a few days (head cold, have had loads this pg) but when I woke up in the night last night I noticed that my right ear is all swollen.
I don't have any pain or earache and no excess wax/discharge etc. But I cant get my hearing aid in my right ear at all.I think it may just be the actual outside of the ear as opposed to the inner ear itself.
I rang the GP's this morning and cant get an appointment until a week on Friday, I am hoping to be better by then, but even so I made the appointment and will cancel it when/if I get better.
What I want to know is should I do anything, if later on in the day the swelling goes down should I still not bother with the hearing aid or should I try it in the ear.
I have asked my mum who has worn an aid since she was 8 and she didn't know. My brother who has also worn an aid since he was a toddler doesn't know what to do.
