Over the past 3 weeks I have had a few occasions when I have felt really weird. The only way I can describe it is like that feeling you get when you've drunk way too much coffee (except I hadn't). Almost like a faint feeling, but I didn't think I was going to pass out - I just felt hot, clammy, light headed, shaky and needed a cold drink and a lie down immediately. yesterday I got it on the tube and I felt absolutely ghastly. I got off and had a Lucozade and sat down for a while and felt OK, although a bit weak. I am really worried. My MIl started banging on about diabetes this morning......I had my bloods tested regularly through my pregnancy (DD 6 mths now) as my first baby was a big 'un, and they all came back fine, so it seems unlikely to be that...

Sounds like hypoglycaemia, which my GP pointed out to me is the opposite of diabetes....if you had diabetes your blood sugar would be too high, and it sounds like yours is low, if you feel better after lucozade.

I went to him concerned about exactly the same thing, he wasn't worried and just said to keep glucose sweets with me, he said he could test for it but it would mean he had to test my blood at the point where I felt woozy, so it was difficult.

I wouldn't worry about diabetes though!!

I get this quite often- espesh if I need to eat...I always carry the Lucozade sweetie things with me, as they also help to ward off my migraines which I think are low blood sugar related. I was tested for diabetes too, (my Mum convinced we're all going to get it as it runs in the family doomandgloom merchant!)

Any idea what your pulse rate is doing when you feel like this?

I had similar feeling when I had low blood pressure, so it might be worth getting that checked out too.
