Hi, just wondering if anyone has experience of this, my periods are normally pretty regular, every 28/29 days and they usually last for about 7 days max. my last one lasted 8 days. Now this morning i've noticed some reddish brown discharge, only when i wipe(sorry if too tmi). I have a little cramping though i do sometimes get a little cramping around ovulation which is around about now. I'm also breastfeeding my 2 yo ds on quite a regular basis thought not sure if that could have anything to do with it. I've also been a bit stressed lately which is not unusual. I have health anxiety and i'm trying not to get myself into a panic over this.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

I see from your profile you're the same age as me! My periods are starting to get closer together too. I'm not overly worried atm, but they are maybe a week closer together than previously. If you're worried though, the doc won't mind you going to talk to him/her. Perhaps the anxiety and panic is more of a thing to focus on.

Morning after pill? That's why I've just had a two week gap between periods.

Sometimes some mid cycle bleeding happens with stress - I had it as a 20 yo when I was very stressed and upset about something. It clamed down after 2 cycles. It was only a small amount of blood.

I also started bleeding irregularly last cycle (fairly heavily) and ignored it but when it happened again this cycle I went to the docs to get it checked out, he was great and I'm seeing a gynae in a week.

If you are concerned go to your doctor, it will put your mind at ease. When you say health anxiety are you anxious about seeing the doctor?

hi thanks for your quick replies, its only very slight spotting, no need for a pad or anything. I do have crampy pelvic pains. This is day 17 of my cycle so would i be ovulating just now? You would think i'd know, i have 5 children! I remember a few years ago something similar happened to me, i had a period that lasted 2 weeks and i was breastfeeding my dd at the time and my gp thought it was something to do with that.

ClaireDeLoon - my health anxiety is mainly concerning cancer, i tend to imagine the worst case scenarios for every symptom that i or my children have. I'm currently receiving CBT for it. I've been told not to google ad this makes my anxiety much much worse. I'll soon be 43 and it has gone through my head that i could be reaching the menopause but i don't have any other symptoms. I will try to get an appointment with my gp.

sorry for being a nuisance, but meant to mention earlier that i've been getting a lot of spots lately like i normally do before a period so wondering if this could be hormonal.

hi kaylasmum, i am 29 and after having had the coil fitted for 5 years i had it taken out as i had horrendous infections for 1 year, they kept fobbing me off saying it was bad periods, until i was admitted into hospital with very dangerously low blood pressure, after it came out i was fine, but my periods have been the same if not getting worse i have now been on 5 weeks solid and very heavy, been to the docs, but he says it is fine, i hope so xxx
