So if PCOS sufferers have more than normal hair - what is normal., please?

I have just been reading an archived thread on pcoscommunity which was discussing the symptoms, and many of the women described hair on the nipples, between the breasts, on chin, arms etc. Well i thought (with the hair on the chin being as you get older, and i am 32) this was normal...is it not, then

I haven't got PCOS but when I was TTC with problems years ago I wondered if I did because I am so incredibly hairy. None on the chest, but I have to shave my legs every day, have a moustache like Saddam Hussein and those ones on the chin that seem to make a Tom-and-Jerry sort of noise when you pull them out. I even have to shave my big toe [hobbit emoticon needed).

So I am not normal but not PCOS either. (Ooh by the way I am quite thin. I have a friend who also wondered whether she had PCOS, she is overweight but not at all hairy)

Sorry I expect this is not much help but I have spent so many years worrying about body hair - mortified about it - but now am not too bothered and can laugh about it, that I am always want to try to reassure other people.

That sounds normal BalloonSlayer. Some women are hairier.

What's PCOS?

PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. More frequently it's discussed on the TTC threads but i'm not tryiing to conceive so it would be a bit inappropriate.

That is helpful actually Balloonslayer - it would probably help alot of women with PCOS to know that some of their problems aren't actually that unusual!

I was thinking that if the only images we see are of shaven beauties then how are we to know what they looked like before the hair came off? Who knows what normal is nowadays?
