has anyone ever had/heard of having blood with a tummy bug?

i had alot of blood come out with the runs yesterday
seen gp today she says it was just a tummy bug
im worried its something else
she didnt even examin me

yes i had this when i had food poisoning, was confirmed with a sample test though

how much blood would you say each time (teaspoon measure)
how many time was there blood in your poo?

Well, I was ill for a few days (thought it was flu, no stomach pains or sickness) then i had bad diorhea(sp???!!) THe first couple of times I noticed a little blood (maybe a teaspoon) and then it just gradually increased until I was just passing blood. This was only over a period of a couple of hours.

The doctor said it was compylerbactor (sp?) and I had to take AB's

well it started 2pm yesterday i was feeling fine before the runs started
i had cramps
went over 20 times and it slowed down enough that i slept all night,started again this morning but i took some tabs so it has stopped
im so relived to hear it wasnt just me.
did anyone else catch it
all 4 of my family are fine

No I was the only one in the family to catch it, althouh I'd just ds1 and had a blood tranfusion so I think my immune system was down.

If it starts up again go back to your gp and ask them to send off a stool sample. You may need some antibiotics. I had to take them for about 2 weeks. Just to warn you symptoms can subside for a day or two and then reappear.

Yes i started to feel on the mend and then turned bad again.

If you are hungry I would have something to eat. If there's going to be blood there will be regardless of eating or not. Just make sure you get a sample if it does

how many days would you say considering no ab's were given ?

Well I was ill for a couple of weeks in total but I had a fever too, the blood thing only lasted a couple of days though

Candyfluff, when i had my 'episode' i felt perfectly fine untill out of the blue, i started to get painful tummy cramps like labour pains, i went the toilet about 3 times that night, then again pains the next morning, it was then that i noticed bright red blood in the toilet, if you have chance you will be able to look up my hysterical posts detailing everything
