Sh*te, I've accidentally taken a few too many penicillin at once. Should I worry?

Not huge OD, I don't think, but slight muddle! Have called NHS 24, but too busy, awaiting call back.

Had penicillin and cocodamol prescribed for tonsillitis today. Slept most of day and (I now realize) this afternoon, I accidentally took too many penicillin tabs at once, thinking that I was in fact taking one of them plus two cocodamol.

So the total number I have taken today is 4, which is the correct dose per day. Only, I took three of them at once rather than spacing them out as intended.

Can anyone advise if this is a big deal or not? Obv will not take any more until tomorrow!

Bump, bit scared, feel rather dizzy, but this may very well be because of the tonsillitis/ear soreness and not having eaten all day.

I would not be too worried. If anything you may get a bit of a tummy upset of one sort or another. Most penicillins can be given in doses much larger than the 'standard' ones when used for more serious infections. I would just carry on as normal tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon.

You may get a dose of the shits runs but don't stress too much.
