I keep one in my coat pocket, or least I did over the winter, so that would only count steps outside house and not all the pottering about I do indoors looking after DS.
I would usually average about 6-8000 steps if I just went to the park and/or local shops, trips further afield usually take me over 10,000.
I don't drive and walk everywhere with the buggy.
