Pulled a back muscle - what is the best way to treat it?

I don't mean chiropractors or whatever, I just mean what is the best thing I can do at home to help it mend?

I stood up too quickly from drying myself after a shower this morning, and something pulled in my back (actually, it hurt right round into the front of my abdomen too, so it must have been a pretty large muscle). It is easing now, but I want the stiffness to go. What works? Lying down? Getting on with housework? Anything else?

Advice for an old lady please!

When I have back pain, I find I need to keep mobile else it stiffens. I avoid heavy things though, and twisting movements.

Thank you. Yes, I was thinking keeping mobile was a good idea, given that it is not too bad.

Shame about the avoidance of heavy things though as I intended moving furniture today. Bother.
