I started feeling unwell, sore thoart, tired, temp and stiff jaw about 2 weeks ago and GP said virus. Went again on Weds as struggling to catch breath and chest was tight, and told chest infection and given AB. I have been taking them since weds, but still coughing loads, chest still tight and head is bounding. How long before AB kick in?

I would have thought they should really be making a difference already.

I suffer from some really crappy chest infections, and they are normally under control/better with AB's within 24hrs.

Take it easy and go back on Monday - or earlier if you are having problems breathing.

Hope you feel better soon.

Yes would expect some improvement after 48hrs.
