am going away tomorrow to a place with a fantastic water park/pool type thingie, and typically have my period....

could never entertain going swimming wearing a tampon..it fills up with water and gets leaky very quickly. will my mooncup be the same??

had a test run in the bath last night, and all was fine, but can't get over the thought of reading on here before about someone on mn whos mooncup fills up with water whilst bathing....

words of wisdom????

ta!

I'm sure it will be OK. Just empty it before you go in maybe ...

but had to smirk about the dry run in the bath !

dippica · 07/05/2009 13:24

I've swum with mine, I think. Bath is definitely fine with me.
Will watch with interest, as I am on hols soon, and period will be due then too.

Yes, you can swim with one in...it's one of the big benefits of it

chimchar · 07/05/2009 13:35

WOOOO HOO!

thanks girls...will go with confidence then (well, timidly at first, just in case!)

Yes, no problem with swimming, bathing or anything else watery.

It creates such a good seal there'll be no problem. Just remember the schlurrrrp when you remove it..........how can water get round that!

I swim with mine all the time (to clarify, I had a coil fitted in Feb and have bled since andd I go swimming once a week). T'is a wonderful invention.

i went swimming and felt fine in the pool but the cup was full of water afterwards-but some people don't seem to get this???

fluffles · 07/05/2009 21:29

i'd empty it just before and hope for the best - how much can you bleed in an hour or so anyway???

chimchar · 08/05/2009 07:20

lol fluffles!

you'd be surprised!

i'm sure it'll be fine...amazingly, and sorry for the tmi! my periods have become amazingly shorter and lighter after 5 months of mooncupping...now, on day 4, its just manky and sludgy, not like it used to be with tampons...magic i tell you!

off on me jollies in about an hour! woo hoo!

Hello
Im going on a similar trip next month
And wondered how long you swam for without
emptying it??
Started using my mooncup today and already love it

specialsubject · 04/06/2013 21:59

excellent. BTW I always used to swim with a tampon and never had it leak or fill up with water. Do you swim backwards? Smile
