I suspect it means you've got something slightly trapped in your neck.

My hearing in my right ear goes if I turn my head to the left...

ConnorTraceptive · 07/05/2009 12:51

NO idea but I get pins and needles in my face when I eat cheese

bargainhuntingbetty · 07/05/2009 12:52

It is right on the top of my head. I could put my finger on the exact spot. I have managed to convince myself that it is something terrible now so I just wanted to know if I was alone in being a freak.

In all seriousness it does sound like a trapped nerve

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 07/05/2009 12:54

i get shooting pains in my head if i press my temples.

bargainhuntingbetty · 07/05/2009 12:54

Wouldd a trapped nerve in my neck cause pain when laughing and a general sore head???? I would have expected pain at the back of my head not the top?

is it like having a really sharp thing pushed into your head? If so, then yes, it is likely to be a misplacement of your neck vertebrae, putting pressure on a nerve. I have this sometimes and my osteopath did tell me which neck vertebra it was (I think he said C5 but I could have misremembered it) - he fixed it with a simple neck manipulation.
No doubt when you laugh, you move your head, probably throw it back a little, thus putting extra pressure on your neck vertebrae and thus the nerve.

See an osteopath/chiropractor and you'll be fixed in no time.

Thats sounds like a reasonable explanation, when I rotate my neck it crunches so this could be the problem. I just didnt associate neck problems with the top of my head. Thanks.

Sorry I should have said, yes it is like having a really sharp thing pushed into my head.

Just hadd a though, I have had the coil fitted 8 weeks ago, coul it be this?

I suppose it could have something to do with it but the neck is far far more likely. Go see an osteopath!
