Have namechanged for this.

DH said over last two weeks he goes for a wee, finishes wee, puts willy back in pants and more wee dribbles out without control. Not loads and loads but prob another teaspoonful.

Anyone any ideas??? Sorry not a nice subject matter but thought someone may know, DH only 31 so not incontinent (I hope).

Maybe get his prostate checked - this is a sign of prostate problems I think.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/05/2009 19:19

Could be prostate (at any age) but most likely to be caused by kidney stone or urinary tract infection. He needs to go see the doc. Will probably be sorted out within five days with antibiotics if it's an infection. You may want to use barrier contraception though in case it's something irksome (don't worry it doesn't mean he's been messing around).

Very important that he goes to the GP asap. This can be a sign of an enlarged prostate or even of prostate cancer. Both are completely treatable if dealt with early. Prostate cancer extremely unlikely in such a young man. I debated whether to mention it, but if he's embarassed he may need shocking into taking the step of going to se the gp. Please encourage him to go.

I agree with MadameCastifore. The prostate sits at the bottom of the bladder so it could be this, worthwhile checking for a UTI as well. He does need to see the GP.

FrankMustard · 05/05/2009 19:23

Def worth a trip to the gp to get it checked I would think.
Probably nothing to be concerned about but if it's persisting and dh has mentioned it as being something he's noticed happening, it's better to just get it checked just in case there's an infection or something causing it. Good luck.

Sorry, cross post with Pretty Candles and who moved my chocolate. I agree with them aswell.

Apparently in some men it can be normal though - I'm guessing this is a new thing for him though. As well as going to the GP he could try milking the urethra after he's finished. You have to milk the part of the urethra which is close to the bit of skin right behind the scrotum, as this is where the urine will have collected. You can feel the urethra yourself in this place as tube-shaped, firm structure. Move your finger forwards from this spot with a firm pressure. Any leftover wee should come out.

Thank you for your prompt response ladies. He actually has a GP appointment on Thurs about something totally unrelated so will ask him to ensure he mentions it.

Oh and he only has one kidney so I wonder if it could be anything to do with that?

Ah! In that case yes he needs to mention it pronto. My brother has only one and he has had a few problems like this - his urologist did sort them out very quickly though.

good luck to your dh! He's lucky he has a wife who's looking out for him!
