Help needed - bad pinching pain low in my tummy

I need some help.

I'm TTC no 1 and had a v early miscarriage last month at 6 weeks. It was horrible but quite straightforward.

This month, I have had mild cramps on and off since ovulation (I'm 8 dpo today) - I've only one day without them.

Yesterday I had the most awful shooting, stabbing pain low in my tummy, on my right hand side and in the middle - it was like a period pain but much, much sharper. It hurt to walk, to breathe deeply and even to drive over bumps. By yesterday afternoon I had a temperature of 38.5 and felt pretty awful.

Today my temp has gone back to my normal range (36.2) but I still have the pain.

I have no idea what is causing it. Is it something to do with last month's miscarriage?

Help!

go to an out of hours.. it could be anything .. but I think you may need to see someone.. slightly off the line your thinking.. but it could be your apendix.. seeing someone would not be a waste of time IMO.

Maybe I should phone the doc - we're in the middle of nowhere here, so we have quite an old fashioned medical service.

My mum was also worried it might be an ectopic pg, but i.m not sure. She was also worried about the temperature because I just don't have them - the last time was with food poisoning over 20 years ago.

CCould be an infecttion I would call and get checked out/

nannygirl · 02/05/2009 17:03

Sounds like appendicitis to me. Get it checked, please! They can go wrong quickly, far better to be safe than sorry.

Hope you feel better soon.

BCNS · 02/05/2009 17:07

please say you have rung the docs..

it was down to being nagged on MN a good while back now .. when I was gripping about tummy pian similar to yours..that I did something about it.. lucky really as that night I had my apendix out .. I could have left it for a lot longer tbh had I not been nagged.

The bit that's confusing is that my temp has gone - it was only yesterday evening that it was raised.

I always thought that an infection or appendicitis gave a consistently raised temp - am I wrong?

Today it's just been a stabbing, crampy type pain - like the cramp you get in the arch of your foot or calf.

I don't want to look like I am making a fuss - I felt a bit like that with the doc talking about my mc.

I rang them with a question about blood groups - I am a Rhesus neg and my DH is a Rhesus pos and I had read on here it might need some attention - the doc was perfectly polite, but I did feel as though I was wasting his time IYSWIM.

Oh yes - there are also some sort of downward pulling pains in my fanjo.

All is a bit odd and painful here.

Get on the phone to them. If you are wasting their time thats tough, it will put your mind at ease. It will make a change for them too have someone who is NOT phoning thinking they have swine flu,

BCNS · 02/05/2009 17:16

It may jolly well be nothing.. but they will not mind you calling.. .. better safe than sorry

daisydotandgertie · 02/05/2009 17:23

I will give it another hour I think and then call - you have all offered such sound advice. I hadn't even thought of trouble with my appendix. Thank you!

bargainhuntingbetty · 03/05/2009 15:31

Yes, did yoou go to OOH????

daisydotandgertie · 04/05/2009 08:35

Sorry I haven't updated - didn't mean to be frustrating.

I am absolutely fine, I went to bed for the rest of Saturday, felt a bit wiped out yesterday and today things seem pretty good.

I wonder if a clue can be found in the very feint positive pg test I got yesterday morning?!

You are lovely, lovely ladies. Thank you, your concern is so much appreciated.
