I really dont want to take the pills because they can have a detrimental affect on other health issues, so im trying this paint on treatment. Apparently it takes up to a year to work. I have 4 badly affected toes that look and feel horrid . Anywhere i read or google says the paint doesnt really work that well so i`m wondering if anyone can come on here please with a positive story.
has anyone actually had any success with this treatment for a moderate to severe fungal toe nail ?
many thanks

You have to keep at it- I found that I ended up with half a "good nail" but then kept fogetting to do it weekly- nails covered with varnish to hide the yuckiness!

Thanks howto.
Can i put nail varnish ontop to cover it ?
I thought it wouldn`t make any differrence but satys not to on packet .

I put nail varnish on- so maybe that is why it doesn't work, lol! You don't get such a good finish tot he varnish, but who cares.

I had a toe that was almost all fungus- yuck. Big toe, one foot. After really trying with the Clearnail, about half the yucky bit had grown out- but then I lapsed. I forget to do it every week.

You have reminded me to keep going with it.

A friend's dad had great success with tea tree oil. Bathed his foot in tea tree oil every day.

Right o ill stick with it but paint them for special occassions-still look grim and thick painted tho but slightly less grim than not ! Will continue regardless for a year ! Will do regular tea tree foot baths perhaps prior to application . Arent they horrid ?

Mum and DH both had this. DH didnt persevere with the paint on stuff but the manky bit of toenail seemed to just grow out in about 18 months anyway. Mum did the paint on stuff religiously and it took over a year. So makes you wonder if it is worth it?! Doctor told her definitely not to use nail varnish, apparently this can cause it in the first place (altho dont think that was DH's problem!)

I used it a long time ago, and eventually scanky nails improved. However, I haven't been able to use nail varnish for years, or the nastiness comes back. If you imagine nail varnish just seals in the fungus, keeping it warm and moist, and once you're prone to it, it's more likely to come back. You wouldn't wear cling film knickers if you had thrush now would you??

Oh Pig PMSL at thr clingfilm - eeeew
