I sat down REALLY hard on a roll of gaffer tape last week. Dh had left it on the chair.

It hurt soooo much.

It still hurts when I sit in a slouched position and when I sit up from lying down. And when I bend over.

Do you think it's broken or bruised?

How long did it hurt for?

Not sure they could actually do anything, but if it's v painful they can prescribe stronger painkillers than you can buy over the counter.

If you're not already, take regular paracetamol. Personally I would also add in an anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen, provided you have no contra-indications and take that also regularly for a day or so to get the pain under control.

If you are already doing all this it could be worth seeing your GP for stronger meds.

Good luck.

I am pregnant so I can't take Ibruprofen.

It is managable pain but when I sit or move in a way that triggers the pain it is a very painfull shooting pain. Too many 'pain's there!

Just went to the doctors. Which was pointless as I thought it would be!

She felt my bum/back and said it was def my coccyx. She said it could hurt for up to 4 weeks. I can take paracetamol. She said I could try to massage it to encourage blood flow to the area (she said it in more doctor-y terms)

So basically what you lot said!

It's mainly bad when I move. Or walk. So when I sit, stand up, bend, roll over etc.

Google "coccyx cushion" it's a cushion with a cut out bit on the back, I had a very sore coccyx after my DDs birth and it helped SO much as I had to sit a lot to feed her!!!
