I'm going on holiday soon and Doctor has prescribed this to delay my period til I get home. Never had it before so was wondering what anyone can tell me about it. Also, can I take it when period has just started or does it have to be 3 days before?

I don't know about the three day before thing - i have always taken it at that time - didn't want to risk my period starting.

I have taken it many times over the years and have found that it does make me feel a bit low - not full on PMT but a bit iyswim. However, i was soooo heavy with my periods it was well worth the cost of being a bit grumpy - and of course it may not effect you that way.

With me being very regular i occasionally would take it a month in advance so that i wasn't actually taking it on holiday.

I'm now on the Mirena Coil and so far it's been fab!

i had it years ago..............worked great but when i stoppedtaking it and my period was starting I passed huuuuuuuuuuge clots - like massive bits of liver (sorry if tmi) but that was the only draw back for me

rule of 3's. start it 3 days before your period is due, take it 3 times a day and when you stop it you will have your period 3 days later.

it works.

I was prescribed it last summer and would say the same as cass66.

No problems with it
