rosacea - anyone had laser treatment?

I've had mild rosacea for some years which I kept under control with Emu Oil. When I got pregnant with DD2 it got much worse. I've now been using metronidazole gel for over two months, and it's made no difference. The GP seems a bit clueless (basically asked me what I'd like her to prescribe!). Has anyone had success with other topical applications after metronidazole failed, or alternatively has anyone tried laser treatment? There seems to be good research to back up the more recent forms of laser treatment, but I'm obviously wary because of both cost and potential side-effects or problems.
Any advice very welcome

I've had rosacea for about 20 years now, tried virtually everything but still as red as a tomato. I'd be interested in learning whether the laser treatment works (not that I can afford it, but I can dream)

Sorry to hear that, Glasshouse
Bump for anyone else?

you need referred to dermatologist. This is not something your GP should be attemptine to sort himself.

Have you got blepheritis as well? DH's has got worse recently. He's been bathing his eyelids in 20% tea Tree Oil (dilutede in almond oil).

Did you try the scabies drug?

The scabies drug? Never heard of that. Do you mean permethrin or malathion?
No, I luckily don't have blepheritis, nut thanks for the tip.
