I'm itching all over, I have been for about a week and a half.
I've not changed any products, I don't have any known allergies. I don't have a rash.
The main places I itch are my hands, feet, head and legs.
I've googled it, but not found anything that seems very likely, as I don't have any other symptoms!
If anyone has any experience please help, it's driving me mental!!!

do a test. I had this in early pregnancy with ds. It drove me nuts.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 27/04/2009 00:02

Oh dear. I get around a bit.

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 00:03

Really? this early? I'd have to have started itching within hours of concption! (about 6 days till AF is due)

Yup. Honest. It's either this or a liver problem. I was itching within a few hours. It wore off after a couple of weeks. The GP said some women get this (not saying it's this of course).

WhoLetthepigsoutOinkoinkoink · 27/04/2009 00:11

I was itchy like this once, I couldn't understand why. Out of curiosity after about three nights, I combed my hair with conditioner and found nits

Once I had treated them, the itching stopped. I think it was a reaction to the bites that became generalised iyswim.

Ds didn't even have them. Gawd knows where they came from.

ladette · 27/04/2009 00:14

in my experience either pregnancy or lack of iron. Check out the pregnancy first before trying iron tablets!

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 00:15

Ooh, never thought of nits!!It is everywhere though, not just my head.

Oh, no, now you're getting my hopes up ladies, and it's too early to test

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 27/04/2009 00:17

I didn't test, the GP did. I knew. Weird hey!

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 00:22

You knew you were pregnant? How early was it?

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 27/04/2009 00:24

Umm, a couple of days. Weird hey, I just felt different. The itching started the day after conception. I even knew it was a boy for some odd reason. It was.

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 00:26

Oh, I really don't want to get my hopes up! I did loads of tests the last 2 months but I knew I was kidding myself iyswim!
I don't have a hunch either way this time!

Leave it a while, do a test, if it's negative pop to the GP and ask for a LFT (liver function test), there are liver problems that can cause this too. Itching of the thighs can be due to dehydration.

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 00:28

Right well I'm off to bed! Thanks for replies, I shall keep you updated!

Right, am still itching, still too early for a preg test!
Just bumping this really to see if anyone else has any ideas!

It is driving me mental now!

Seriously - check your hair.

I had the itching all over as well. Bites from something like that can trigger a generalised allergic response that isn't limited to where you are being bit

Have you tried piriton?

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 21:04

Thanks for responses! I've had DH check my hair, and it isn't nits! I am now getting a rash on my back, which is burning a bit!
Very, very odd.
If anyone else has any suggestions, please help!
I obviously don't want to go to the doctors with something so daft, but not sure how long to ignore it for!

I've just had similar for the last three weeks (my scalp is itching like crazy as I type) and have come to the conclusion that it's a new sympton of hayfever - the doctor agrees... Going to start taking nutritional supplements for the hayfever and I've got good old calmine lotion for the rash ... you have my utmost sympathy...

abbierhodes · 27/04/2009 21:13

Oh, that would make sense. Have just taken some piriton, so hopefully that'll kick in soon!
Thanks chunglimum!! Hope yours is better soon!
