OracleInaCoracle · 25/04/2009 15:45

thank you.

oh poor you. How vile.

we have never been able to walk into a pizza hut after the kids got something there from a pizza (stopped after a long journey, only place we could find!)

the restaurant was filthy which should have been a sign

I would write a letter, even without a doc's appointment but that's just because I think they are shite

OracleInaCoracle · 25/04/2009 15:55

thanks, just got off phone to out of hours doc and she suggested i call pizza hut and public health on monday.

never had FP before, i can normally eat anything without it upsetting me.

foxinsocks · 25/04/2009 15:56

I hope for your sake it's a shortlived bout

yes is always important to let public health know isn't it, especially with something like seafood I would have thought

OracleInaCoracle · 25/04/2009 16:01

thanks, i feel so ill and im really hacked off. it was our anniversary yesterday and we were supposed to be going out tonight, thats gone by the by!

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 25/04/2009 16:13

oh no!

let's hope they don't give you vouchers to pizza hut!

it's sods law isn't it - it often takes a bit of time to feel like eating properly again too doesn't it

sockmonkey · 25/04/2009 16:15

Feel better soon Lissielou.
Hope you still manage to celebrate your anniversary.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/04/2009 16:18

yep, just spoken to pizza hut, got the usual blah blah that i was expecting but as soon as i said that the crayfish tails and prawns were cold, and told him that i am a caterer he took my details. im gutted. the service was really, really good and we had a nice time.

You shouldn't have called Pizza Hut but instead called The food Standard Agency.

MuffinBaker · 25/04/2009 19:31

Huge sympathy

I have gastric flu and have been ill all day.

not good.

and now my neck is really starting to hurt too.

MuffinBaker · 25/04/2009 19:32

What was the usual he was spouting?

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 25/04/2009 19:34

I'd go to A&E myself, not because it's an emergency, but because it's a notifyable illness and they need to take some samples whilst it's still in your system for environmental health to be able to prosecute. The chances are that it was not just you that were ill aswell so the more samples the better.

MintyyAeroEgg · 25/04/2009 19:35

How can you tell the difference between food poisoning and what muffin calls "gastric flu" and what I call "stomach bug"?

Am genuinely interested.

MintyyAeroEgg · 25/04/2009 19:36

Didn't the so-called food poisoning at Heston Blumentahl's restaurant turn out to be norovirus? Or am I imagining?

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 25/04/2009 19:39

Vomiting, abdominal cramp, nasty diarrhoea, feeling like shit. Shakey. This is how I felt when I had it.

monkeypinkmonkey · 25/04/2009 19:44

As disgusting as it sounds keep a sample of your vomit!
The EHO will be able to test to see if it is FP from this. I would say that is the only way you would be able to prove it against a chain such as pizza hut as they have so much food safety management systems in place to help their defence in cases like this. And if you've worked in restaurants you will know that they often fill these forms in without actually completing correct procedures.
So again take a sample put it in the fridge and call EHO on mon morning.
Hope you feel much better soon.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/04/2009 20:32

thanks all. def not gastric flu/virus. no fever, just cold sweats (from vomitting no doubt) cramping stomach and can't even keep down water. will def go to A&E if it gets worse, doc said that i should take sample of stool (ewwww)

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 25/04/2009 20:57

It's so they can isolate the bug. Gross though.

OracleInaCoracle · 27/04/2009 13:04

well, still ill. thouht i was ok ok yesterday but had vomitting fit last night and stomach is still cramping now. cant get in at docs.

OP posts:
FabulousBakerGirl · 27/04/2009 13:05

A&E?

OracleInaCoracle · 27/04/2009 13:10

i could i suppose. dont really think im ill enough to go to A&E, but was supposed to start new job tomorrow, work in catering though, so have had to cancel shifts

LilRedWG · 27/04/2009 13:12

I had food poisoning following a MN meetup, where I had prawns. I was very ill for three of four days and haven't eaten prawns since. Call Pizza Hut and complain.

Hope you feel better soon. x

OracleInaCoracle · 27/04/2009 13:16

was it one of ours red?

OP posts:
LilRedWG · 27/04/2009 16:07

No - the Worcester one. I'm going again next month, but most definitely not having the prawns.
