Can your periods come and go when you're breastfeeding? On the coil so pg would be a bit unlikely,

I had really irregular periods before I got pg and then when DS was 11 weeks old had to get the non-hormonal coil fitted as emergency contraception. I have not had a period now since February but I did a neg pg test in March so I'm not really that worried, more sort of interested...

Plus, and scuse me if TMI, do you just get more discharge when on the coil? Or do I need to get that checked out?

"Normal" is such a relative term, don't you think...

Yes to both questions.....periods can be irregular while breastfeeding...often depends on whether it is exclusive or not, and you may indeed notice more discharge with a coil.

As long as it is not showing any signs of infection....strong odor, itching, burning, etc., it is likely fine.

However, pregnancy can happen while on the coil and increased discharge also is common in early pregnancy so if you suspect a pregnancy, check with your gp if you feel you need to confirm the result on your pregnancy test.
