Makes me feel ill to look at it, don't know if it is hard or soft as I'm not bloody well touching it. Does anyone know what it is? It turned up a month or so ago.

Sounds like a ganglion. See here (if you want)

ganglion will go away, promise!

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 20/04/2009 22:28

You're welcome.

The old fashioned cure for a ganglion was to drop the family bible onto it from a height.

My mum had one for years and the GP took it out as minor surgery. She said she felt nothing.

jambutty · 20/04/2009 22:34

Ganglion. Mine (on my right wrist) was smacked with the family bible - didn't go away, just hurt. Had two ops to remove it because it was pressing on a tendon or something and hurt when I wrote or typed. Came back after the first op, didn't the second time - but I only had it removed because it was causing damage.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/04/2009 22:36

but I don't do religion nor do my mum and dad

dammit if only I was more god fearing!!!!

funnily enough I looked at some of the google links and someone said their's vanished after falling off a horse and banging their hand, I'm very good at falling off horses so maybe I should take up riding again

If it stays for a bit, might be worth getting it checked out just to make sure it is what you think it is.

jambutty · 20/04/2009 22:41

I'm not religious either, but I said a lot of religious words in a not very religious way when my mum hit my hand with a bloody big book, I can tell you.
Mine's just come back fifteen years after I had it operated on, by the way. And it hurts.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/04/2009 22:41

yeah I will - I saw it about a month ago, then it seemed to go away now it is back, it doesn't hurt at all, if it gets too big etc I will go see the docs
