Help!!! DH has the smelliest feet in the world <boak>

Poor Dh has the stinkiest feet I have ever smelled in my life. They are really really smelly. He washes them everyday, changes his socks everyday, tries to air them as much as possible but alas, they still stink. My whole house smells of pooey feet even with the oil diffuser thingys. Have any of you got any ideas? Do cedar chips/cat litter work? I am so close to just cutting them off with the small axe we have in the shed. TIA

Has he been to the GP?
Does he have any sort of fungal infection?
Is this new or long term?

Marthasmama · 16/04/2009 22:26

It is long term. I don't know about the fungal infection but yes possible. And I have asked him to go to the GP but he's a man. Unless his foot is actually rotting off he won't go. What are you thinking ingles?

E45 Cream

Dp used this and it cleared up his smelly feet FOR GOOD

And he was a builder and everything

Marthasmama · 16/04/2009 22:30

Really??? Hmmm... I'll have to try that one, but I am sceptical. His feet are VERY smelly. If you had suggested some sort of acid to burn all of the skin off then I'd see how it could work.

Oh and when I say I'll have to try that one, I mean I'll have to get him to try that one. I'd have to bleach my hands if I touched his feet.

DP's were seriously bad... I mean, you'd have to leave the room and everything... had to leave his shoes on the doorstep etc

Mind you this was in his younger years

But the E45 sorted it

If his feet also sweat a lot then the best answer is to use driclor antiperspirant (not sure I have name right ) spray on his feet: i mean the really powerful stuff: apparently it works as well on feet as it does on armpits for heavy sweaters.....

Good God though, that stuff makes you itch

WHY do I have so much to offer on this topic?!

Marthasmama · 16/04/2009 22:44

Metatron - He does use soap but I know where you're coming from! I will get him to try both of those suggestions. Thanks ladies! If all else fails, I always have the handaxe

DHs used to be unspeakably dreadful.
He now wears 100% cotton socks and uses detol soap - the 2 combines have made a huge difference.

vole3 · 17/04/2009 06:25

Along with the cotton socks try and get him to avoid wearing synthetic shoes ie. only leather / cotton uppers / inners. Oh and regularly replace the shoes if they're getting really stinky.
Try to avoid wearing the same shoes 2 days running to allow one pair to dry completely.
You can get or make muslin bags filled with sodium bicarbonate to leave in the shoes overnight to help absorb the whiff.
Neat tea tree oil put on cotton wool and rubber all over feet, especially between the toes, should deal with any fungal infections and if done regularly will prevent them.

Or just amputate his feet

My eldest son has feet that used to make me gag if he was in the house...and we have a BIG house. I also used to have to do his laundry twice...ie was, let washer finish, wash AGAIN and then dry with the washer onlyhalf full.

I bought him the Driclor roll on stuff. Bloody amazing. Around £6 for a little roll-on from Boots but now his feet are NORMAL. So long as he is using it, of course...

Mycil cream or powder is great. My DSS had the most awful smelly feet and this cleared it all up.
