Probably the wrong section but is anyone a member of a virgin healthclub?

Is it expensive? Is it worth it? Do you recommend it? Good/bad points please?

TIA Scrooged.

I am a member. I get a rebate from work so it is pretty cheap for me but it is about £50-£60 per month full price - but think that is not too dissimilar to other gyms around here (London).

I like the variety of classes, and the big swimming pool which I think a lot of them have. I also like the fact that it isn't all muscle men and women wearing size 8 - seem to be a lot of normal people with lumps and bumps and wobbles and being out of breath so I fit right in! They also have a cafe with newspapers etc for afterwards if that is the sort of thing you want.

They do a monthly membership option - slightly more per month than annual but means you don't have to sign up for a whole year upfront so you can see if you like it.

However, they did take over Holmes Place gyms which might be more varied in terms of facilities - mine is an original Virgin Active which I think were always designed to be bigger and have the big pool facilities etc. So definitely worth going to have a look around first. You can see all class timetables on their website.
