....as at approx 2am I wake coughing/breathless- then cough up a large ammount of frothy clear mucus/saliva.

....and if i'm watching something funny on TV ...and over a period of minutes i laugh alot- the same happens.

once i've coughed up the yuk- I cough less- but today am still feeling tight /bruised across chest/ and very tired- since last nights waking

i am overweight and snore- so wonder if asthma is the problem?

i'm not aware of wheezing- but have always had times when i struggle to get a 'satisfying deep breath'....and end up yawning to 'force' a breath

get thee to a doctors.....

I had asthma and odd as it sounds, laughing would make me cough hideously!

any tightness across the chest MUST be investigated, better be safe than sorry!

thanks- am feeling so sorry for myself!

I have had one cold after another since before christmas- and just assummed this was sinus problems...but having this frothy mucus is something i am not familiar with! (sinus probs i have had many times...)

other probs are i seem to 'sigh' alot- and am permanently clearing my throat.

obv get checked out by doc - but could it be something simple like cataargh/post nasal drip - that a decongestant could help with?

MUM23ASD · 09/04/2009 21:38

have been taking 'cold capsules' on and off for weeks...even thought it was early hayfever- so tried antihistamines ...

am dreading going to bed tonight- as each night has been worse!

i sprained my ankle in feb- so that is uncomfortable enough to wake me as i turn over- and then this stupid cough waking me up too!!!!

(it's probably the extra exertion needed to turn my lump of a body over with my useless foot that's causing what feels like asthma!!!!)
