What is my body playing at?

I have been on the mini pill for about 9 months now. At first my periods were all over the place, mainly because I kept forgetting to take it (I was trying to sabotage myself delibratly I think ) But I have got into a good routine now and taking them as I should. The problem is over the last 3 months during my 7 day break I don't bleed but 7-10 days later while I am taking the pill I bleed. I feel nauseous, headachy and crampy.

What the hell is going on?

Nearly right, it's Cerazette.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2009 16:59

cerazette is meant to be taken every day, so you shouldnt have a 7 days break

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2009 17:01

yep i was right - just googled to make sure i hadnt mixed with another brand

i was on this for 2 years and nnver had a period

info here

brettgirl2 · 02/04/2009 18:27

Deffo should take cerazette every day.

I had the opposite experience to Blondeshavemorefun however, and had one constant period while taking it, it doesn't control periods in the same way as normal pill.

I hate to say it but I really think you should do a pregnancy test.

MrsGokWan · 02/04/2009 18:47

Ah!! ok, I must of read that or was told that but didn't take it in. I used to take the normal pill 13 years ago and had a 7 day break with it. Will start taking it all the time then.

Brettgirl I hope I am not pregnant. Much as I would love another child and I am as broody as hell but my body couldn't handle it and it wouldn't be fair on my other 3 DC's. Will see about a test tomorrow.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2009 08:58

the packets come in packs of 28

what did you do with the other 7 pills?

did it not occur to you to take them?

hope you arent pregnant - but not suprised you are bleeding on and off,as your body is getting used to the pill, then comes off it,then goes back on it - iyswim

brettgirl - my friend is also on cerezette and has normal bleeds - weird it all effects us differently

MrsGokWan · 03/04/2009 11:42

Blonde, I took all 28 tabletsand then had a 7 day break and then started again [stupid idiot emoticon]

Have just taken a test and it was negative.

brettgirl2 · 03/04/2009 12:12

Well, no harm done then

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2009 14:14

pmsl - oh dear

well least you arent pregnant, and hopefully if you take pills every day, then your body will sort itself out

so will you be

a regular bleeder
never
once a month

keep us informed

MrsGokWan · 03/04/2009 17:09

MrsGokWan · 04/04/2009 00:24

Heehee, we all do these crazy things.

I think that your doctor is more of a doofus for not explaining to you how to take it. Mine gave me a right talking to when I switched from combined to mini pill.

We have also confirmed on this thread that blondes definitely have more fun as they don't bleed on Cerazette (my hair is brown). Could make for some interesting analysis........

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2009 13:56

ha ha

def have more fun and def dont bleed

but yes i also would be a bit inclined to blame the doctor - though obviously mrs GW you didnt read the instructions either
