I have a lump on my ear lobe and it looks like a bee sting or an ear piercing gone wrong. i have not experienced either. It is very warm to the touch and feels hard.

Any ideas?

A boil? Have you tried squeezing it?

katz · 30/03/2009 19:39

nope not a boil - have had one of those on my bum! it kind of goes in in the middle. it looks like a bee sting but i haven't been stung!

A bite?

katz · 30/03/2009 19:46

but what could have done it not liking the idea of things creeping round my bedroom! its a sizable lump.

Could have been something in the garden?

TheNatty · 30/03/2009 19:48

ooh itll be what i had/
its actually an infected pore, which if you squeeze hard enough (and it bloody hurts) you can get a solid lump out of and some pus.

or you could do what i did, go get some antibiotic cream and wuss out...

katz · 30/03/2009 19:51

cornsilk - it wasn't there before i went to bed or at 1am when i went to the loo, it was there when i woke up, so if its a bite it has to be something lurking in my bedroom!

thanks natty! its very sore already don't think i could bare to squeeze it gently let alone hard.

I once had a lump/spot/boil thingy in my ear cannal which has a special name could be one of those just on my lobe instead, that needed antibiotics.

Perhaps it's something that's come out with the (ha ha) sunshine. Maybe carried in on the washing?

TheNatty · 30/03/2009 19:55

yeah mine appeared over night, the doc said its possible something (like grit or something) got stuck in it during the day and over night its inflamed and became infected.

painful yet minor

EyeballsintheSky · 30/03/2009 19:55

I get these a couple of times a year. I have never successfully squeezed it because it farking hurts so I just leave it and it goes in a day or two.

popsycal · 30/03/2009 19:56

i used to get these fairly regularly
leav it a few days then give it a good hard squeeze between your fingers
pop

have to say i'm liking natty's diagnosis better, no creepy crawlies in my house please!!
