Has anyone else who's moderately short-sighted got these?

I'm moderately short-sighted (-4.50) in both eyes and since my eyes last deteriorated, loads of floaters have appeared. I'm not talking about just one or two, I have reams of them in my field of vision. I've read that you can get lots if you are severely myopic, but not just if you are in between mild and severe.

I'm not really that worried but I just wondered if any "medium" short-sighted people out there have the same. Is it worth mentioning them to my optician next time I have an eye test, or should I assume that they are normal being that my sight is bad?

I get them occasionally although they rarely bother me.

My prescription is -6.5 in one eye and -7.5 in the other.

If they're new floaters, yes you should mention them as while apparently they can increase as part of the natural ageing progress, it is possible that they are a sign of other eye problems.

Info on Floaters

With this important paragraph:

"Those who experience a sudden increase in floaters, flashes of light in peripheral vision, or a loss of peripheral vision should have an eye care professional examine their eyes as soon as possible."

So I'd say if it's a very sudden increase or you have any of the other symptoms, go see an optician asap.
