swollen glands, feel run down all the time, anyone have any magic solutions?

The glands in my throat feel swollen all the time, last week I had lumps behind my ears and i felt sick and dizzy.

I've had blood tests for diabetes, hypothyroidism, and menopause. The doctor thinks i'm just tired and run down.

This being the case, does anyone have any advice for how to get my mojo back? I feel knackered and with a 3 yr old and 2 yr old can't really 'take it easy'!

Thankyou?

Have you been tested for glandular fever?

Yes I'd agree there that glandular fever is a possibility. Your 'lumps behind the ears' are probably sub-occipital raised lymph nodes and indicate an infection of some kind.

Encourage your GP to consider infectious cuases and send off some tests for acute Epstein-Barr virus infection (EBV) which is the virus causing infectious mononucleosis (aka gladular fever)).

Also probably worth testing for CMV infection since the symptoms and signs are similar. Your DC might have brought it back from creche/playgroup/etc.

The nausea and dizzyness may indicate an inner ear bacterial complication - called labyrinthitis - where the balance organs get involved and malfunction. Have you had any antibiotics?
