Any information on MRI scan in pregnancy?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant, and after being taken into hospital yesterday, for symptoms of a mini-stroke. Doctors want me to have an MRI scan. I had a CT scan yesterday, and the results for that came back normal, but they want to do a more detailed scan which is why they want me to have an MRI scan. The doctor said that there are risks to the baby, but he can't get exacty what...I'm in two minds whether to actually have the scan now, or maybe see if it can wait until 39 weeks when i'll be having the baby by CS. I don't know what risks there are to the baby, and I've searched and searched the internet, and can't find anything..if someone could help me I'd really appreciate it. Jael X

At 34 weeks, there are no known risks to your baby.

There has been some anecdotal data previously that babies who were imaged in utero had poorer hearing than those who hadn't, but I can't find anything that backs this up. This is due to the noise levels

Earlier in pregnancy, there is more risk as the baby can have its temperature raised, so MRI is avoided before 14 weeks.

This is an area I trained in, but don't currently practice in - but I did do a check
