Being stressed and run down can cause mouth ulcers.

bonjela...get some

Usually it's a virus and it can get the better of you when you're stressed or run down or as part of PMS. Been looking for a proper treatment or cure for 25 years... the most helpful for me was to give up sugar and ordinary toothpaste - it drastically improved when I started using herbal toothpaste. Hope it improves soon for you.

Most 'normal' mouth ulcers are caused by some kind of trauma/ damage to the mouth (knocked with toothbrush/ sharp food etc). Ordinary ulcers are not viral. See here for some info.

I get them when I am run down. I have found something called Iglu (over the counter) which works really well. It is like a paste that sticks on and protects and heals - much better than anything I have ever tried.

being anaemic can cause them too

hillbilly · 23/03/2009 20:14

Thanks everybody. It's very unusual for me to get them. I have some bonjela which stings like hell!
