Changes in periods...is this normal for an ancient being like me?!

Things have changed in the last few months in a systematic fashion?
I used to have a regular 27day cycle with steady periods lasing about 5 days? Now it has suddenly gone to 22-24 days, much heavier on the first day, then only around 2 more days of light bleeding? I?m anxious and moody too.

I?m 43. Is this normal ? is this what I would expect ? or should I mention it to my GP (I hate going to the drs and really don?t want to make a fuss about nothing?)

Thanks,

sounds a bit like fibroids to me, nothing to worry about, easily fixed, don't suffer too long before going to docs.

Mine sarted to do that at about the same age.Mine became very painful as well. I had scans which showed some small endometrial cysts on my ovaries but was told my symptoms were due to be perimenopausal.I am 46 now and have started missing periods as well.

I am 44 and had a problem with an erratic cycle going from 21 days to every 8 days. I started taking Agnus Cactus, a natural hormone regulator, about 4 months ago and my periods are now back to normal. I can highly recommend it. HTH

Thanks folks...I'm not sure whether to read that as a 'go and get it checked' or a 'dont worry its normal'...I'm a bit doctor-phobic and inclined to avoid them if at all possible...
