my cervix feels too close to the entrance of my fanjo, so close I bet the nurse won't need a speculum thingy ...eep!

Will she do the smear?

I've managed to get 4 kids looked after for this appt!.... more to the point what's wrong with my foof!?!

Has it always been this way?

Sounds like a possible mild prolapse..I have one and have no problem getting smears done.

Astarte · 19/03/2009 14:53

No it's always been in the right place.

I had my 4th child 4 weeks ago and have just noticed this today when in the shower.

What can I do to fix it?

If you just had a baby 4 weeks ago I wouldnt worry as it will probably go back up!

It would not hurt to do lots of pelvic floor exercises though!!

Hi Astarte, I know nothing so did the fatal thing and googled it... was wondering if this site would shed any light?

Sparklytwinkletoes · 19/03/2009 14:59

There's a link on the bottom of that page to a prevention / treatment page which says what FFTM says - pelvic floor exercises!

Spookily enough the surgery have just rung and I can't have a smear because it's too early. They wait until 12 weeks postnatal apparently.

I hope it resolves itself. STT I looked at the looked, thanks, I don't have stress incontinence, or the other things, just a rather low cervix.

Perhaps it'll go back to it's normal position in the next couple of weeks, if not I'll mention it at my 6 week check with the GP.

Thanks for the replies Better get squeezing those muscles.
