temperature of 40.5 but not actually acting sick

DD age 7 been like this since thursday, god awful cough....says she aches all over...been giving medised and ibuprofen for the last 3 days

any suggestions...am just chucking her in the bath so apologies if i dont respond straight away XX

I would have thought that a constant temp, that high for 3 days, needs checking.

I am not a medic though.

Please phone the out of hours doc; that temp's dangerously high. If meds aren't bringing it down, your dd should be checked out.

she is sitting in the bath singing her head off but her temp is still up .

if this was DS he would be on the couch out for the count!!!

I cant work out what is up with her, not rash, no snot no nothing

Well it could be a chest infection, it could be a uTI, she needs to be seen.

sorry just realised in my op..i did mean to say she went to the out of hours on friday and ther ruled out water infection and said her chest was clear....sorry i typed my op and then lost it and then tried to re type it quickly but omitted that bit

am gonna take her back to the out of hours doc, she is singing hsm in the bath atm so feel a bit of a fraud....
