..............and think if any of you are able to you should do it too!!
I won't deny I was extremely nervous but when it was done and I was sat with my well earned bisuit and drink I felt like I done one of the best things ever.
I'd thought about it for years and years but never actually got round to doing it. One day a couple of months ago I decided to stop thinking about it and went online and booked myself an appointment.
Tonight I'm going to get myself sorted and put my name on the Organ Donor List - yet another thing that I've been thinking about and haven't sorted.
Am desperate for a glass of wine this evening but can't have any alcohol today - ah well a small price to pay hey?!!

You are amazing

My DD2 needed 2 blood transfusions after her premature and complicated birth. People like you saved her life. You should be chuffed with yourself.

Sparkler · 12/03/2009 21:38

Aw Sidge - that made me also put a tear in my eye. Hope DD2 is doing well now.

Well done, much appreciated by those of us who have needed blood

Rachmumoftwo · 12/03/2009 21:42

Wel done, I started giving blood last year when my Dad was having treatment for cancer. It was something I could do to give something back to the system. I agree, if you can do it, do it.

Sidge · 12/03/2009 21:43

She has come a long way thank you Sparkler

FWIW I also give blood regularly - I am O Neg and my blood often gets labelled up and set aside for the neonates. That makes me feel really chuffed too! I truly think giving blood is an incredible and amazing thing to do and I know just how important it is. I wish we could persuade everyone to do it where they are able!

Fantastic. Well done.

Now if you're feeling brave, get yourself on the bone marrow donor register too.

And you can have an insy tinsy smidge of wine. Just make sure you drink a glass of water with it!
