I have a lump inside the palm of my hand, it usually settles in the one place, but I can move it, it hurts, any ideas?

I have a ganglion but that's a lump attached to the tendon normally on the top/back of the hand, not the palm I think.

Toothache in his hand is exactly how my dh describes his ganglion. It's at the base of his ring finger.

He saw the GP about it whosaid that they can take it off but tthey tend to grow back anyway. Gp's advice was that if you can ive with the discomfort then just get on with it!

Mine doesn't hurt at atll, it's on a tendon near my wrist on the back/top of my hand. I've had it for about 15 years, used to be a lot bigger but is qute small more recently.

That looks very much like Depuytren's Contracture

Spelled it wrong - "Dupuytren's"

I had the same thing - went to the doc's who referred me to a specialist who diagnosed it and wanted to remove it under GA - the op would leave my hand out of action for weeks I decided not to go for the op and it disappeared by itself.

Cannot for the life of me remember what it was but it was exactly as you describe (in the same place only on my right hand - hence not wanting to have the op).

It wasn't what SWM's link describes though...
