They are just where the band of her nappy is and she has had nappy rash for a week or so. Also she has been unwell last week with a high temperature and cold, and conjunctivitus. We seem to see children everywhere with chicken pox so I know it is going round but these are just a few spots with white bumps on and loads that are just red rashy looking, all in the nappy area either on her bottom or where the band of the nappy goes. Could it be an allergy or other nappy rash type thing?

I know a little boy who's Chicken Pox started exactly like this, in fact it mostly stayed in the nappy area. If they look like blisters it is probably Chicken Pox.

Oh no really? There are about three maybe four with a white bit. I suppose they don't look much like blisters though, just a spot with a head on. I just can't think what else they could be. And the rash on her bottom and groin area is pretty bad, red and raised, think may need to get that checked out as nothing is shifting it.

Sounds like the pox to me. DS has it at the moment. The spots appeared last night on his tummy and back. He's had runny eyes and nose and a slight temperature for the last few days. This morning, he was completely covered in spots. The spots look like zits, and are much more red and angry looking in the places where they've been rubbing on his nappy or clothes.

Apparently, they should have crusted over in 5 days, and then he's not contagious anymore.

I think it sounds more like thrush, particularly as she's had nappy rash. I'd take her to the doctor and check as if it is thrush you can be prescribed a cream for it.

Thank you, I think maybe a trip to the doctors may be in order. The reason I doubted chicken pox was partly becase no more spots with white bits have appeared, just two left now, the heads seem to have come off any others. I will obviously check again in the morning though. he has been realy really hard work today so something is up I think.
